I've never liked the look of the Explorer on a leather or NATO strap.just my opinion. A Rolex Sub on a leather strap is even worse (it makes no conceptual sense). The Speedmaster, on the other hand, looks great on a well-made leather strap. The body-friendly Odéon PM is a zipped satchel bag, featuring heritage House details like a leather name tag and leather corners. It has a sporty vintage vibe thanks to the Damier Ebene canvas and black leather trim. A wide, adjustable, removable strap allows shoulder, cross-body or clutch carry.

You don’t see many explorers on leather straps because, as with many modern Rolex watches, the Explorer lug holes are positioned quite close to the case, which, when combined with some sharp bevelling between the lugs, . I have a 2008 explorer 1 (Ref.114270) which came fitted with a bracelet and the case without the external holes for easy removal. When I bought the watch the Rolex ad told me it wasn't possible to fit a leather strap to the modern version. Is this true ? If not has anyone tried it with a modern explorer ? If you did were there any problems ?
Hi all, I’m New to the forum and recently bought a Rolex Explorer. I would love to buy a leather strap to change my setup occasionally. Could you recommend a toolkit to Change bands manually? PS: I love the Colareb bands. Could you please also advise which dimensions fit on the 39mm Explorer? Much prefer leather/textile strap over bracelets, and yes the AT leans more on the dressy side with the teak dial and lack of bezel, so a good strap is more than fitting. That being said the AT bracelets are just about the most comfortable of the modern Omega collection. I’ve always found the watch is more balanced on a NATO or leather strap than a bracelet, because I can make it tighter against my wrist. I have yet to find an Omega bracelet that I can wear tight without my wrist feeling constricted. The consequence of this is the watch flops around and feels MORE unbalanced.
The Rolex (polar) Explorer II, 16570 reference was always a front runner, but I didn't want to be 'snow-blind' to it, and diligently looked for credible alternatives. Well, I received a great response, with lots of thoughtful suggestions, but the Exp.II Kept coming back. Explorer 16570 white or black -- I sold the black one but owned them both for a couple of years, have kept the Polar. I like the look of the black on other people's wrist, but I rarely wore it. The white one rarely get worn but fits in my collection well.
Looks like the Omega strap 'll fit multiple watches, both Omega and Rolex. Rolex spring bars are 2.0mm, Omega spring bars are 1.8mm. This may explain why the Rolex spring bars are not suitable for the Omega strap. This information was garnered from a Rolex boutique regarding the use of leather straps and loose bracelets on Rolex Bracelet watches. I can understand what they are saying. Considering that the bracelet should be adjusted snuggly so that all wrist movement transfers directly to the rotor inside the watch is not rocket science, it makes perfect .
Love seeing all the fine leather strap choices the Omega Forums Speedmaster owners make and show in the photographs posted here. My own Speedmaster is on a leather strap. The 1499 bracelet that came with my Speedmaster is the most comfortable watch bracelet I've ever worn. It is an attractive bracelet as well. The NATO strap is most unappealing .
