Maybe it is the lug to lug, case or angle of the lugs that makes the DJ 41 look too big. My wrist is 7 inches. I could probably get by with the smooth bezel. But, prefer the fluted bezel.
My personal preference is: fluted bezel —> 36mm. smooth bezel —> 41mm. A 41mm DJ with a fluted bezel would just be a bit too flashy IMO and throw off the classic dress watch look, regardless of your wrist size. 36mm is the perfect, timeless size for that. I actually do have the question to your lug to lug length on the 126200/126234. I measured it with a digital caliper and it came out to 43.4 mm. I hope that helps.
